National Institute of Technology Arunachal Pradesh is a public technical and research institute near Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh. NIT Arunachal Pradesh is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology in India and is recognized as an Institute of National Importance
The National Institute of Technology, Arunachal Pradesh was inaugurated on 18th August 2010 as a member of a group of ten new NITs. These new NITs were established as centres of excellence in technical education to combat the growing need for technological professionals in India. NIT Arunachal Pradesh started functioning under the mentorship of NIT Durgapur, when the first permanent Director Prof. (Dr.) Chandan Tilak Bhunia assumed the charge on 1st November, 2011.
