What is Right to Education? (RTE)
Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act or Right to Education Act (RTE) is an Act of Parliament of India enacted on August 24th 2009. Right to education has been recognized as a basic human right in number of International conventions. The RTE act describes the modalities of the importance of free and compulsory education for child between the age group of 6 years and 14 years in India under Article 21a of the Indian Constitution.
Karnataka State Education Policy:
- Every child gets the opportunity to attend school.
- Every child attains, effectively, the minimum levels of learning.
- Every teacher is at the school.
- The community is actively involved in the betterment of the schools, thereby encouraging a mass campaign for primary education.
Karnataka State Education Policy: Providing free and compulsory education for all children up to the age of 14 within a period of 10 years, As per directive principles of State policy enunciated in the Constitution of India from the date of commencement of the Constitution.

Documents Required for RTE Karnataka 2019-20 Admission:
- Applicant Aadhaar Card (If Aadhaar card not available then Aadhaar card applied application no.)
- Birth Certificate (For Age Eligibility Click here to check age Eligibility)
- Income and Caste Certificate issued by a competent authority.
- Parents i.e Either Father’s or Mother’s Aadhaar Card

Application Process for RTE Karnataka Nursery(LKG)/1st Grade School Admission 2019
Steps for Applying for RTE Karnataka 2019
STEP 1: Before Applying for RTE, Please find the available schools in your area by visiting the Website link here
Visit the official website of RTE Click here to visit the website.
STEP 2: Register at the website with Aadhaar number (Mobile number which is registered in Your Aadhaar must be with you during registration) and Get your application number registered on the system. The application number and password will be communicated on your registered mobile.
STEP 3: With application number in your hand, log in to the account, Start submitting your child details, parent details.
STEP 4: Select the residence address accurately to list schools within 1 KM and within 13 KM range from your house.
STEP 5: After selecting the schools select the required standard (i.e LKG Or Grade 1/Std. I).
STEP 6: Upload the required documents and Confirm the application.
STEP 7: After final submission, take the printed application along with the required documents for your future reference

It was already opened for rte English medium schools as well, only thing was the area of residence should not have any Govt or Govt aided schools to apply for private schools

If you have Govt. Or Govt. Aided school in your locality then you can apply in only these schools in case no such schools available then you can apply at in aided private schools.

RTE is already open and application deadline is extended upto 25-04-2019, even for private schools, with new amended rules one can apply for private schools only if Government and Govt. Aided schools are not present in the area.

Maybe you are selecting a shool which is unaided and there are govt schools in your area That is the reason.

There are 15 schools listed for RTE admission in our ward:159 Kengeri,Bangalore south but when go for online registration it showing only one such school.why this confusion to go option in different schools.Will u pl clarifying clarify this absurd?

Hi sir what ever government declared the rules about rte. every year if they change in ther own decision what about poor people’s from 4 months made all the documents ready now we are not able to apply for rte. This is not fare. Kindly helps for applying rte . Last year my kid she was 3.9 that government told kid age should be 3.10 we are not able to apply rte. Against suddenly government changed the age 3.5 for lkg. Now she is correct age for rte. this year again government changed all the rules for the 2019. We have arranged all the documents 3 months back for this but now the pop up says I can’t apply Rte as my locality has govt schools(2KM distance is there) but post office village showing same. RTE is available, everything has a process and it takes time for the Government to release funds, hopefully Govt. roll back amended rules, public/parents should approach govt. and ask them to help them out.

very very disaponting result . there no fees structure in the school fees and the private schools r charging 1lakh to 2 lakhs for 1st and 2nd std childrens and small schools will charging minumium 50000 the government given the rte .thats is became very helpfull . but nw dont know how much the private schhols feeded the money to ministers now the rte is collapsed very bad government.very disapointment result . if u have good intension to give education to all childrens first make one fees structure for each and every schools

If there are Govt. Schools in your ward, you should apply to those school as per new amended rules.
There is no lkg classes in govt schools.what to do.

Select the proper ward & locality which is mentioned in your child’s Aadhar, there will be no error message…

Majority schools are government schools, only one aided school for 1 class and many aided schools for LKG are getting in my ward.

No school is showing in your area? Please contact your area rte officer and inform them about it. And ask for a solution.

Through goggle I took rte helpline no & called but the phones are out of service if rte is given to govt school their is no need of rte application we can directly take our children govt school make their admissions, this govt are playing with students future this not good

Its very true that the recent change in RTE admission rules is nothing but a well planned way to save funds. However other than raising objections nothing much can be done. So I suggest raise concerns online in official website and expect Government to look into the matter.

Can we submit the Income certificate in the Father’s name or the child name is mandatory.
It is on child’s name, however I don’t know about submitting income certificate of fathers name, please contact RTE officer.

The new amendment rules are showing that their could be a smart deal between Pvt unaided schools and running Karnataka government. This new rules were made goof-off all weaker section/ backwards people. Our Mr.Kumaraswamy saying that they were spending crores together for the children’s who are studying in RTE quota. Respected CM the RTE cost is even may r may not be equal to the cost of you people were spending in resorts for your dirty politics. Please don’t play with innocent children’s future. I pray to God you people with to revert the changes.

I have also facing same problem ,if I select village name near by pop up will come like contacted BEO officer…I called nodal officer his telling if have govt school in your village it will not show any other schools but last year it had showed around 10km redious all schools

madam even i cant also apply for rte .. all steps done ,.. but when it cames to select schools it shows there is no schools in ward.. what is the problem ?
Not sure why the problem is, or is it because of some software error or no schools in your ward, can you contact your Ward RTE Officer and if possible meet and explain the situation, the numbers for Ward wise RTE Officer is given in the above article.

You should enter the exact address in your Aadhaar, if by mistake you have entered it wrong, see if you can modify the application otherwise contact the beo officer. As mentioned

It is important to have a active Aadhaar with mobile number, please visit any of the Aadhaar centre in nearby bank and make your present mobile number updated in your husband Aadhaar and also if possible update your address in Aadhaar.

If there are no schools in your ward, then you can apply in neighbouring ward, it is better to first check the available school in your ward using the link given above to find schools from department of public instructions.

If it is possible update the Address on your Aadhaar, since it is only one cross difference and does not change the whole area, you can apply but it is 100% better to update in your Aadhaar, it will not take much time.

Yes Mobile number should be available, as you will get OTP while registering and applying online application form.
In my sons adhar card mobile no. is not registered.
Please go and update the Available mobile number at the nearest Aadhaar centre. Mobile number is important, as you get OTP on that

As per rules if the DOB falls out of the range and the DOB fall in range next year then one can apply next year, please contact the RTE officer of your ward to know more.

Along with Govt. Schools, Aided schools will also be in the list, if your ward has fewer schools, you have apply in them only, if you happen to not get seat in your ward, then you may get it in neighbourhood ward
